Fly where it all
began

More than five centuries ago, on the hills above Florence — Monte Ceceri, in Fiesole — Leonardo da Vinci designed the Great Kite and imagined the first human flight. As tradition has it, his pupil Tommaso Masini, known as Zoroastro, was the one who actually leapt into the void.

Today those same Tuscan hills are your launch site. Leonardo's dream, finally made real — beneath a wing.

«The great bird will take its first flight from the back of its great Ceceri, filling the universe with wonder.»

Your pilot

A world-class pilot

Your pilot is Piergiorgio: an expert pilot licensed by the Aero Club d'Italia and fully insured, who flies and competes around the world. He knows every current over these hills — before take-off he calmly walks you through everything, then you just run a few steps together and enjoy the flight in complete safety. Patient and easy-going, he puts even first-time flyers at ease.

Flying without barriers: we also arrange the experience for wheelchair users. The only limit is your willingness to take the leap.

Questions you might have

Who can fly?

Truly everyone. No flying knowledge, training or special fitness is required: the pilot does all the flying and controls the wing from start to finish. You just follow a few simple instructions and a short run of a few metres at take-off, then your feet leave the ground almost before you notice. It's perfect both for first-timers and for those after a strong thrill — you decide with the pilot before you go.

Is there a weight limit?

You can fly with an indicative weight between 30 and 130 kg, held up by the force of the air alone. If you're just outside these limits, don't give up: write to us and we'll check feasibility together based on conditions and equipment. If you have serious heart, back or other health issues, we recommend getting a doctor's opinion before booking.

When can you fly?

We fly all year round, as long as the weather allows: the best times are often clear mornings and sunset, with calm air and spectacular light. Strong wind, or wind from the wrong direction for take-off, plus rain and storms are the only things that stop us. That's why we always confirm the flight after checking the forecast: if the weather doesn't cooperate, we happily reschedule to a date that suits you.

What if I get vertigo?

Only people with genuine clinical vertigo may have any difficulty. Far more often, vertigo is confused with a simple fear of heights: in paragliding, though, there's no handhold or edge beneath your feet, so that typical sensation of leaning over a balcony or a ladder simply doesn't happen. Most people feel only a pleasant sense of floating in the air. If in doubt, talk it over with the pilot before take-off.

What should I wear?

Dress comfortably and sporty. Closed shoes such as trekking boots are required, while heels, sandals, skirts and smart clothes are best avoided. It's cooler up high than on the ground, so bring a windproof jacket and light gloves; in summer sunglasses are a good idea too. The helmet is provided by the pilot. Remember to secure anything loose — glasses, hats, phone — as up there it can easily blow away.

Who flies the paraglider?

You'll always fly with an expert tandem pilot, specifically licensed by the Aero Club d'Italia and insured to carry a passenger. The equipment is certified, regularly checked and fitted with a reserve parachute. Safety comes first: the pilot decides if and when to fly and, if conditions aren't ideal, we always prefer to reschedule rather than take needless risks.
