WHERE TO FLY

Over an area above Florence, Arezzo and Siena. There are two main flying sites with three landing areas, both well equipped and easily reachable by car, without any walking.

The landing areas are only four kilometers away from each other and the choice depends on the season, specific weather conditions and wind directions.

REGGELLO

This site is  known as “Massanera”.

It’s on the west side of the Pratomagno Range.

We take off with some variable directions of wind and this leads us to the north of this flying area.

Underneath, Reggello, the historical abbey and forest,  the modern wind generator of Mount Secchieta, Acquabella castle at Saltino and the stunning San Mezzano castle at Leccio.

A touch of Tuscan landscape, everywhere around you.

 

CASTELFRANCO DI SOPRA – PIAN DI SCÒ

Taking off at 1300 Mt above the sea level, at Montrago.

We take off with some variable directions of wind and this leads as towards.

The very unusual geological features here known as “Calanchi” and then to Loro, Castelfranco, Piandiscò with short views over the Chianti hills, to finish off in Chiana valley.

On the Horizon, Cortona and Trasimeno lake, beneath as, the Cross of “Pratomagno”, which has been up than since 1821.

LANDING SITES

Our landings sites are located in Reggello and Piandisco and they are run by the free flight club Uccellacci del Pratomagno. They are wide green flat lands and equipped in such a way so as to grant total safety thanks to all the most sophisticated devices installed there.

The main landing site is in Reggello next to the Tamoil petrol station, which is a lively meeting point for all the paragliders in the area.
